Quoteso - for context - I own 'professional' microphones worth between £25 and £1600 per unit and have in excess of 70. Professional deserves the ' ' as the real value of a mic is how it's used, not it's price point. A great engineer will get a good sound with budget mics. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoO_6HqrfYwAnd I don't like the Blue Yeti. But i'm not going to say awful - as clearly better than most built in microphones. http://recordinghacks.com/microphones/Blue-Microphones/Yeti has some responses - if you care about them then you'll say it's not the best, if it's the first time seeing one then it's better than you need. As for price the C-1U from Behringer is probably a great option for a "above average" mic on a budget.
QuoteYeah some of the internet arguments get well out of hand. It should be about discussion and sharing experience, not evangelism!I've got a Zoom H1n microphone so just trying to work out best way of using that. I've also ordered a purple panda lapel mic - by no means the best option but very good value for money considering what it comes with. And certainly adequate for my current use case.
