I have had my Caprice & Ella channel since February 27, 2021 and so far have gotten feedback as far as closed captioning languages and what I need to do. Any other suggestions? I have uploaded a promo for review purposes.

I'm not adverse to profanity myself but considering that the focus of your channel is your two cute pets you may want to consider keeping it clean to attract a larger audience.

That is why there's the clean/broadcast version on my channel and the unedited version on Caprice & Ella.

Being honest? It feels like it is all over the place. In some ways that is good, but in other ways it could turn off people.

My suggestion? Build your brand. Below are mearly suggestion and nothing more. I have found many times I offer suggestions and people lash out to me for being too harsh. I am not being harsh at all, just offering suggestions.

- Create a logo. Good or bad, try and use it through out.
-  maybe a consistent format for the thumbs could help too. Try to make the image for the thumb very clear, many of the people looking will only see a small little thumb and if it is an image of the kitty on the floor zoomed out, they will not know what they are looking at.
- You could do wonders with the banner with your furbabies. Screen capture a few really cute moments and try and get that into your banner.
- Did notice a bit of language in your videos, but it was mentioned above. I for one will never be offended by that, but @Rhody Seth had a good point. I do swear in my videos but I edit them with a carhorn, or clown horn over the F bombs and many times, that is kind of funny in it's own right.
- Start ramping up your video editing skills. Believe me, it is rewarding in it's own right. I decided to go full out with editing and ended up promoted at work, and a ton of videos I am proud of.

Again, nothing more than suggestions. Love your furbabies, they are great!

Here is the logo for Caprice & Ella.

There are some ideas I could use for the full episodes.
Here is the thumb for an upcoming Caprice & Ella epsidoe.

And here are some thumbs I plan on using for season 4 of Caprice & Ella based on other YouTube channels.

I don't plan on changing the banner at this time.

A few have complained about the profanity on Caprice & Ella. That is why there's the broadcast/clean version posted on my channel (Ava Zinn) and the undeited/R-rated version on Caprice & Ella's channel. The clean version posted on my channel have the profanities bleep censored. I've posted an example episode from my channel and the Caprice & Ella channel.

Broadcast/clean version on my channel. (These are typically rated TV-PG or TV-14)

Unedited/explicit version posted on Caprice & Ella. (These are usually rated TV-MA)

Most Caprice & Ella episodes are no more than 15 minutes. Editing is not the problem, and this is why there's two versions--the broadcast/clean version posted on my channel and the uncensored/explicit version posted on the Caprice & Ella channel. Additionally, if I edited the episode/video, it would take 12 hours compared to the 1-2 hours tops in addition to inserting the bleeps for the clean version. Very few episodes of Caprice & Ella are edited for the broadcast.

Additionally, there's also the closed captioning in English, Spanish, French, German, Burmese, Chinese, Italian, Portugese, and Russian. That also takes some time, and if it wasn't for Google Translate, there would have been a problem.

Do the Caprice & Ella viewers know there is an option for a 'clean version' ?

Also for many people a clean version isn't just a rude one but with bleeps - because they consider that 'default/implied swearing'.  If you are going to make a clean version, edit out the swearing entirely.

I am unsure as to whether YouTube would flag your material as 'duplicate uploads' or what happens if they do, not my are of knowledge.

There's some great advice above, but ultimately you have to do whatever it is that's your passion and in your own style BUT if you want to grow your channel to a wider audience, you do need to be sure that style aligns with the audience for the kind of content you are creating.

In any event, keep at it :)

I am, as of January 19, 2022, taking a class at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne called "Video & Sound." It is irrelevant, yet may be helpful.

I'm also considering changing the thumbnails for the full episodes.

I have been using Pic Collage on my iPhone to make the thumbnails.

Decided to make a minor change in the thumbnails and do plan on using these. I plan on changing the thumbnails for existing full episodes.

Just updated a full episode's thumbnail. Here is the before and after.

Before (I used Pic Collage to make the thumbnail)

After (I used Adobe Illustrator then exported to JPEG)

Definitely an improvement.
My only comment is that any text in thumbnails need to be large and easily readable.
That's not the case with the words "explicit/uncensored version)

Also the thumbnail for 1986 Miami shootout would benefit from having the background 'lightened' / desaturated to separate the gunman into the foreground as more noticebale and a less crowded look.
