So here is one for you.

My everyday job is building websites. The one thing that always vexes me, things I can't figure out is the resize of a logo, graphic, png, ai, icon, clipart.

A client sent me their logo. It was 1200px x400px and it was sharp. I resized it to 425 x 97 (perfect ratio) and exported it (png).

The edges are a bit fuzzy and it is not very sharp.

I have tried resizing in all different ways, I have tried exporting it in a multitude of ways, but it always ends up a bit fuzzy. Even did the tracing thing in illustrator and that didnt work either.

Does anyone have a way of resizing graphics that I don't know about? Am I missing something with this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would post the logo, but for company concerns I really shouldn't. I am hoping you understand what I mean by this.

Jay try RIOT   https://riot-optimizer.com/

Its available as plugin for gimp etc but I haven't been able to figure that out so just try the standalone version see how you go.

BTW I'm also into building websites but purely amateur though trying to get it to the stage of a side-hustle. Flick me a DM :) loe to chat about it.

Oh I use Riot for large images. But the issue I am truly having is reducing the dimensions. From say 1000X100 to 200x20 and keeping the edges sharp. They do not. Especially graphics and PNGs.

Yeah I am a senior webdeveloper for a huge firm, been doing it for 20+ years.  ;D

Sharpness is where raster images are a PITA.
It's certainly a massive problem going up, but also occurs when downsizing and the smaller the final image the fewer pixels there are to smooth a curve so it inevitably will be fuzzy or even worse blocky.
