Yeah the new monetization tier isn't particularly interesting.

But yeah, at least you have 3k hours over the past year.  I just broke the 1000 sub mark which was gratifying but my watchtime has been around 2000 hours for the last year.  Truly - I've been losing watchtime as much as I earn it.

Well I am "eligible" to start it if I wanted.

They would take one look at the Headshot opening with Piper in a skin tight cat suit and a plethora of poopy dick jokes and pretty much say... uh no. LOL.

Not sure I would anyways. I guess if I explode and really start to move I'd do it and donate the money.

You'd be surprised they might still run ads on it.

Let me rephrase that - I'm sure they'll run ads on it anyway, but they might let you share some of the revenue.

Well, I got an email a week or so ago saying the invitation or whatever was terminated, I fell below the credentials again.

I was riding high for a few months, some of my vids were hitting 200 views. Then they had to of changed the algorithm and it hit a wall, wasn't even a gradual drop off, BAM, dropped 70% of the views I was getting before. went from 150 views to 35-40.

Youtube is such a finicky little bugger.

Well to add on to this epic saga. I guess they did not terminate the current invitation. They were terminating my last partnership with Youtube.

 

Umm. Wat now? I had a partnership with them?

Apparently I did. When my channel was blowing up because of a certain video, they sent out an invite to me and I accepted. But they never finalized it because of my strike I got on my channel. So it sat in limbo for years and years until they finally terminated it.

Weird. Youtube is... weird.

YouTube is finnicky and weird for sure.  I'm still waiting for one of my videos to get some decent traction.  I see other small channels similar to mine that have gotten at least one video upwards of 7-10k views. But I've yet to manage that.  Straightforward titles, clickbaiting titles - nothing seems to work.  I think my thumbnails are pretty good.  I'm chalking it up to the fluky nature of the algorithm.  I'm going to release a premiere tonight from our recent Montana trip that I've put a lot of work into - it's a longer video and I think it's pretty good.  If this one doesn't do well, I'm going to be a grumpy bastard.

I've been middling around 2000 hours of watchtime for the last 1.5 years for chrissakes!
