Just wondering what your worst Video editing experience ever has been ?

The other week I recorded a 5+ hour longplay of The Tuttle's Madcap Misadventures to find all the footage was unusable it stutters and lagged through the entire video.

So I decided to replay the entire game to forget to actually press record.

And the next disaster was that for some reason when I took a break the game hadn't saved and I had to again replay the entire game.

But I finally finished the game and managed to record it all.

I feel your pain with all the oddities and glitches. Since I bought the monster rig (knock on wood) I havent had many issues.

My worst experience? More frustrating than anything.

Client wants 10 videos made. He uploaded 74 videos. The shortest one was 90 seconds long, the longest was 20 minutes. Roughly speaking; easily 6 hours of footage.

OK. So I had plenty of content. But I had to go through it all, so even fast forwarding 2x 3x to watch, it took hours. Then compile that with the fact it was shot with a iphone 11, with no stabilization or anything. Watching it jostle and shake.

Lastly it was shot in January. Mud, snow and barren trees everywhere, not to mention dark foreboding clouds.

They paid quite a bit of money, but honestly not nearly enough for 3-4 hours of sifting initially.
Then 2-3 hours of editing, an hour of revising, an hour of finalizing and rendering. PER video. Well over 50 hours of work.

It will be anyways, on the 5th video and running out of ideas. It is not like I am looking at girls in bikinis, it's very boring stuff.

Anyways, it has been a terrible experience and I it probably wont end for another month or two.

In my short time on YouTube I had a video I shot last summer that ended up being totally overexposed.  I spent a good amount of time trying to make the footage usable but ultimately I washed my hands of the whole thing.  Taught me to be more careful with my camera settings.

Overexposed can usually be fixed (sort of) as long as there isn't also a LOT of contrast.
There are no rules in film-making. Only sins. And the cardinal sin is dullness.
